The Journey of A Coffeeman Lawyer
The Journey of A Coffeeman Lawyer
Law and coffee have always gone together like gasoline and fire.
However, in almost-every case, it has gone together because lawyers, judges, law students, paralegals, legal secretaries, and anyone associated with the practice of law drinks massive quantities of coffee to jumpstart our days and keep us awake late at night. It's the fuel that keeps the practice of law going (that -- and billable hours).
According to one completely-unscientific study conducted using several lawyer friends, we drink more coffee in the world than every other profession combined (sorry doctors, nurses, and police officers -- it's true).
But combining a law practice with roasting coffee?
Novel concept, or so I've been told by everyone questioning my sanity.
Sure, we had "Ed," who combined a bowling alley with a law practice in the small, fictional Ohio city of Stuckyville -- and legendary Akron attorney Russ Pry, who did it in real life for a while. But the idea of combining coffee roasting with a law practice is novel -- even crazy (or so I've been told).
When people think of coffee, they tend to think of hipsters and creative-types -- not people who wear suits, go to courts, file amicus briefs with the United States Supreme Court, and spend time in jails between bouts of arguing complex theories of Constitutional law. With the exception of Starbucks, when people think of coffee folks, they tend to think of free-spirited people who are not cutthroat, but who are mellow, wear t-shirts, and easy to get along with.
With that all being said, I decided to open Raging River Coffee Company, a small coffee company dedicated to making the world both happier (everyone loves coffee) and better (we donate a portion of the proceeds to environmental and conservation causes).
According to the GoDaddy folks, I need to put something in here. I will. Just not today.
Maybe tomorrow.
Check back tomorrow.
Or the next day.
